The IW 28SL is a high resolution inwall system designed for full range symphonic and critical listening. Employing rigid format technology, it shares the same woofer, crossover and 3/4" thick MDF front baffle as our premium line "WC" series but with a few basic changes. Reinforced plastic replaces an aluminum outer bezel frame. 13 ply rigid inner wall mount trestles are replaced by a single threaded steel plate. In addition, the grille is paintable microperf metal as opposed to designer cloth over an MDF frame. Key to its performance is our 8", long excursion, proprietary CWC Quiet Cone™ woofer that is carefully integrated to an audiophile grade silk dome tweeter via a sophisticated minimum phase crossover. This potent combination provides comparable sound to expensive, high end bookshelf box speakers.An ideal solution where very high performance, classic appearance and pleasant form factor are required.
